During this time, a young maiden of noble birth named Eoh Wu-dong was in love with a man of low station. In defiance against the rules of the noble class, Wu-dong runs away from her marriage and chooses death. A woman named Hyang-ji rescues Wu-dong from the claws of death. Brought together by fate, Wu-dong becomes a kisaeng. Using her body as bait, Wu-dong makes the nobility slaves of sex and starts to fight history's incorrect conventions. Meanwhile, being afraid of their family's name and dignity, Wu-dong's husband's family hires assassins to try to get rid of Wu-dong but she escapes with the help of her first love.
