Special Program of Shorts from KAFA Students Now Available
The cold frozen winter has passed and the warm spring has finally come. After a long awaited revamp, KoBiz Online Screening has finished its changeover and was reborn with colors that reflect the season of spring in warm orange and calm blue. During the website’s renovation, KoBiz took special care in making pathways more user-friendly and providing an effective and faster way to help members communicate with each other. As its first project, KAFA FILMS 2015 will be serviced which is a program of original shorts from aspiring filmmakers who are just stepping into the industry.
The KAFA FILMS 2015 screening service is a joint effort with the Korean Academy of Film Arts which produced renowned Korean filmmakers such as BONG Joon-ho, IM Sang-soo, CHOI Dong-hoon, HUR Jin-ho, and JO Sung-hee. The joint partnership has been an annual effort. Director HONG Seok-jae’s Socialphobia, which surprisingly beat the box office records of Han Gong-ju, last year’s best-performed alternative film, is also a KAFA’s feature film. Through winning various awards at Berlin International Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Korean short films are making a mark as a new star while international film professionals are taking notice of this development. Through the new KAFA FILMS 2015 service, it’ll be a good opportunity to see the trends of Korean films and KoBiz Online Screening looks forward to continuously providing fulsome contents and discovering new works.
The KAFA FILMS 2015 program will be available on the KoBiz OS site(screening.koreanfilm.or.kr) for three months from March 30th.
