KAFA FILMS 2017 Set to Showcase Korea’s Next Generation of Filmmakers

Event Taking Place From November 2nd to 22nd at CGV Apgujeong, Myeongdong, Busan
KAFA FILMS 2017, a special program showcasing feature films from the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), is taking place at CGV Apgujeong, CGV Myeongdong and Indieplus in the Busan Cinema Center until November 22nd. Under the slogan ‘Feature Debut Show of Promising Filmmakers’, KAFA FILMS 2017 will screen SON Tae-gyum’s debut film Baby Beside Me and YOO Ji-young’s comedy drama Duck Town from the school’s 9th feature film course and CHO Jong-deok’s animated film My Dogs, JinJin & Akida (2017) from the 8th course. These films have been recognized by festivals at home and abroad, including the 21st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), the 18th Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF) and the 27th Zagreb International Animation Festival, respectively.
KAFA, the first film educational institution in Korea, has been responsible for producing many of the young filmmakers, actors and actresses that have made waves in the domestic movie industry. So far, KAFA’s feature film course has produced critically acclaimed films such as Bleak Night (2011), Socialphobia (2015) and Alice In Earnestland (2015). KAFA FILMS 2017 will feature a strong selection of films by talented young filmmakers set to lead the future film industry in Korea.
