London Korean Film Festival Kicks off November 6

After teasing its program a few weeks ago, the London Korean Film Festival (LKFF) has revealed the full lineup for its upcoming 9th edition. As previously reported, opening the event on November 6th will be YOON Jong-bin’s period action film Kundo: Age of the Rampant with HA Jung-woo and GANG Dong-won. Closing the festival on the 15th will be IM Kwon-taek’s 102nd film Revivre, starring AHN Sung-ki. In all, over 35 Korean feature films will be presented in London.

Three K-Focus series will showcase the works of director KIM Ki-duk (Crocodile, 1996; Pieta, 2012; Moebius, One on One), producer LEE Jun-dong (Poetry, 2010; Hwayi: A Monster Boy; A Girl at My Door) and actor JUNG Woo-sung (The Warrior, 2001; A Moment to Remember, 2004; Cold Eyes, The Divine Move).   

      

BIFF Choice will feature works that screened at the Busan International Film Festival, such as Han Gong-ju, Pascha, The Dinner, 10 Minutes, The King of Jokgu and Alive. Comprising the K-Spotlight lineup will be Manshin: Ten Thousand Spirits, The Target, Gyeongju, A Hard Day and Hill of Freedom, while the K-Actors program will feature The Youth, Obsessed, Haemoo, Man on High Heels and Man in Love. The K-Independent section will include Night Flight, Neighbors, Bitter, Sweet, Seoul and the shorts I'm Not a Hairdresser, There's No Forest and Faces. Meanwhile, Under the Sky of Seoul (1961) and The Housemaid (1960) will be presented in K-Classics and The Fake and The Road Called Life will fill out the K-Animations program.

Guests will include actors AHN Sung-ki, GANG Dong-won, JUNG Woo-sung, directors YOON Jong-bin, PARK Chan-kyong, July JUNG, producers LEE Jun-dong, HAN Jae-duk and BIFF programmer NAM Dong-chul. Beyond the closure of the London leg of LKFF, the festival will go on a UK tour, making stops in Norwich, Hebden Bridge and Aberystwyth, between November 16-21.
