PARK Hae-jin and OH Yeon-seo Transform into University Students

Actors PARK Hae-jin and OH Yeon-seo have kicked off production on a new film version of the popular TV show Cheese in the Trap. As confirmed by a representative of the project, filming began in Seoul on April 20th.

The film follows a burgeoning romance between a student who struggles due to her family’s poor background and a popular senior who hides something behind his perfect exterior. Cheese in the Trap began life as a popular webtoon by SOON Ggi which was published in 2010 and found an even larger audience when it found its way to the small screen on the tvN Network in early 2016. PARK Hae-jin reprises his role as main character Yoo-jung, while OH takes over the female lead role which was previously played by rising star KIM Go-eun.

Popular on the small screen, PARK returns to movies after debuting as the lead of the drama Snow in Sea Breeze in 2015. OH has been busy in both film and TV and was recently seen in the sports drama RUN OFF (2016). This year will be a busy one for OH, who is also about to return to television in the Joseon Era redo of the popular romantic comedy My Sassy Girl (2001), alongside JUNG Woo. Co-starring in Cheese in the Trap are K-pop star Sandara PARK (One Step) and Secretly Greatly (2013) actor PARK Ki-woong, among others.

The film marks the second directorial outing of KIM Je-yeong, following the 2013 romantic comedy Queen of the Night. He has also been a screenwriter on both Love On-Air (2013) and Wonderful Nightmare (2015).
