Korean Thriller Bows on January 19 in SE Asia

Moviegoers in Vietnam won’t have to wait long to see the upcoming Korean crime-thriller BROTHERS IN HEAVEN. Vietnamese distributor IVONK Pictures announced that the film will open in Vietnamese theaters nationwide on January 19. Before its wide release, the film has a special premier event on January 15 at the Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City.

BROTHERS IN HEAVEN tells the story of Taeju and Taesung, twin brothers who were separated at an early age and now live on different sides of the law. The two are forced to confront each other when older brother Taeju is tasked with investigating the smuggling of relics by a crime organization based in Busan. The film was directed by PARK Hee-jun (Mandate, 2008) and stars JO Han-sun, SUNG Hoon, and Yoon Soi.

“The theme of the friendship between siblings and family is universal and can be passionately enjoyed by Vietnamese audiences,” said Hoang Hanh Nhan NGUYEN, President of IVONK Pictures.

BROTHERS IN HEAVEN was first unveiled at the Hiroshima International Film Festival last November as part of its Special Screenings section and has been receiving positive buzz. The film was originally scheduled to bow in Korea on January 3 but had its release date pushed to January 17. The film will also see January releases in Taiwan and the Philippines.
