KOFFIA to Take Place in 4 Cities through September and October

The Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) is set to return for its 12th edition this year, which will take place in Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney between September 2 and October 23. This year’s KOFFIA will feature a total of 22 feature films.

Among the big titles in the program will be Lee Isaac Chung’s Academy Award-winning Korean-American drama Minari, the action noir hit DELIVER US FROM EVIL (2020), and workplace drama SAMJIN COMPANY ENGLISH CLASS (2020). Director Kim Jongkwan will screen two films, his Jeonju Cinema Project Shades of the Heart (2019) and his commercial debut Josée (2020). 

Somewhere in Between (2019), another Jeonju Cinema Project, is one of many indie works that will be featured, alongside, Double Patty, I Don’t Fire Myself, Kids Are Fine, MORE THAN A FAMILY (2020), Paper Flower (2019), Spring Song (2020), and Way Back Home (2019).

Other recent commercial titles that will take part include the heist film Collectors (2020), thriller The Golden Holiday (2020), pregnancy drama I, heist drama Pipeline, mystery film Recalled, period action film The Swordsman (2020), and romantic drama Waiting for Rain. Also featured will be the documentary The Wandering Chef (2019) and the animation Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs (2019)

KOFFIA will kick off in Canberra from September 2 to 6 before going to Brisbane between September 16 to 19, then moving on to Melbourne from September 16 to 23 and finishing in Sydney from October 14 to 23.
