A24’s Next Film That Produced Moonlight & Minari

Actor Jung Hoyeon has been cast as the main character in a Hollywood movie. Her first Hollywood lead is The Governesses, Joe Talbot's new film. Along with Jung Hoyeon, the film stars Lily-Rose Depp, who was nominated twice for the French Cesar Award, and Renate Reinsve, a Norwegian actress who won the Best Actress for The Worst Person in the World at the 74th Cannes International Film Festival.

Director Joe Talbot received much attention by winning the Best Director at the Sundance Film Festival for The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2018), and his new film, The Governesses, will be produced by A24 that made Moonlight, which won the Best Picture Oscar, and Minari, for which Youn Yuhjung won the Best Actress Oscar for the first time as a Korean actor. BBC Film will also participate in producing The Governesses. With Director Joe Talbot and Actor Jung Hoyeon’s synergy, the new film is expected to attract the attention of international film festivals in the future.

The Governesses is based on a novel of the same name by Anne Serre, and three governesses are the lead roles. Each character exerts unconventional imagination and inspiration in the family they work for. Each of them gives amazing inspiration to their pupils and shows a new world to the boring couples, enjoying erotic adventures. Attention is focused on what kind of film will be born from the fresh novel when the film version meets the great female actors of our time, especially on Jung Hoyeon’s acting, who plays the main role in the film for the first time.

Jung Hoyeon has continued her remarkable career in Hollywood nowadays. She won the Best Actress at the U.S. Screen Actors Guild (SAG), which is not only the first Korean SAG award but the first for non-English series. She also confirmed her appearance in Disclaimer, a new OTT series directed by Alfonso Cuaron. Jung Hoyeon is also recognized for her global star quality by appearing in The Weeknd’s new music video, a world-renowned pop star.
