RED FAMILY Director Begins Shooting Follow-Up
Actor
UHM Tae-woong recently began shooting the indie film
Fork Lane, the new production from
KIM Ki-duk’s production house,
a KIM KI-DUK film. Directing the project is
LEE Ju-hyoung, whose debut, the 2013 North Korean spy drama
Red Family, was also produced by KIM and picked up the Audience Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere.
Details are scant on the project but it is the first film project for leading man UHM since he played the titular role in
Top Star in 2013. Known for a variety of roles in drama (
Family Ties, 2006), horror (
Chaw, 2009), action (
S.I.U., 2011) and romance (
Architecture 101, 2012),
Fork Lane will be something of a comeback project for the actor.
Fork Lane continues director KIM’s streak of films where he produces works by his former crew members. His other notable producing credits include
Rough Cut (2008),
Poongsan (2011) and
Rough Play (2013). KIM most recently directed
THE NET, which debuted at the Venice International Film Festival last year and is currently on the international festival circuit.
Prior to his feature films, director LEE worked in several formats, having directed both an animated short and a mid-length documentary.
