Seo Hyeonjin Set as Co-Star, Production to Start in 2nd Half of the Year
Having recently completed production on One Win (translated title), Shin Yeonshick is hoping straight back into the director’s chair with Dementia (working title), which is set to star Ahn Sungki and Seo Hyeonjin.
Ahn and Seo will play a father and daughter pair in this story, which will explore the subject of dementia.
Active since the early 1960s and one of Korean cinema’s biggest stars since the 1980s, Ahn Sungki remains a major presence in the industry, having appeared in the exorcism-themed action film The Divine Fury (2019) and recently shot the forthcoming period naval epic Hansan: Rise of the Dragon (translated title).
Seo Hyeonjin’s most recent film credits include Familyhood (2016) and Because I Love You (2017). More well known for her small-screen work, she is currently filming the drama You Are My Spring, which airs in July.
Director Shin is known for indie films such as The Russian Novel (2012) and The Avian Kind (2014) and for writing and producing Lee Joonik’s hit DONGJU; The Portrait of a Poet (2016). He partnered with Song Kangho for the upcoming volleyball drama One Win and is reportedly also preparing an experimental black and white film with the star called Cobweb (translated title).
Shin is currently working on post-production for One Win and will begin filming Dementia at some point in the second half of the year.
