MIDNIGHT RUNNERS Star Cast in THE MARVELS
PARK Seo-joon, the star of Midnight Runners (2017) and the JTBC drama Itaewon Class, is set to become the latest Korean actor to grace the screen in a Hollywood movie. PARK has been cast in The Marvels, an upcoming film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a direct sequel to Captain Marvel.
The casting news makes PARK the third Korean actor to appear in a Marvel film, following Claudia KIM in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Don LEE (aka MA Dong-seok) in the upcoming The Eternals, from Academy Award-winning director Chloe ZHAO.
The actor will join Brie LARSON, who plays Captain Marvel on screen, as well as Teyonah PARRIS and Monica RAMBEAU. PARK’s role is so far unknown but reports revealed that he will travel to America later this year after completing work on his current project. The Marvels is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022. The film will be directed by Nia DACOSTA, who previously made the acclaimed indie thriller Little Woods and the upcoming horror remake Candyman.
PARK’s acting career began with a small role in the baseball film The Perfect Game (2011) and he went on the appear in The Chronicles of Evil (2015) and in Parasite (2019) in a cameo role. He is currently shooting the upcoming disaster film Concrete Utopia with LEE Byung-hun as well as the sports drama Dream from Extreme Job (2019) director LEE Byeong-heon.
