THE ROUNDUP, Pre-sold to 132 Countries around the World


 

THE ROUNDUP confirmed the pre-sale to 132 countries around the world ahead of its release in Korea on May 18, proving its keen interest overseas. The film is a sequel to the hit THE OUTLAWS, which was released in 2017 and attracted about 6.9 million viewers in Korea, and the main character of the first episode, Don Lee, will return.

 

THE ROUNDUP is a story about Ma Sukdo (Don Lee), a homicide detective, chasing the worst criminal (Son Sukku), who controls a part of Vietnam. Following the previous episode, Don Lee’s powerful action and the new villain Son Sukkus confrontation are drawing attention earlier on.

 

THE ROUNDUP attracts attention as it is pre-sold to almost all countries in North America, France, Germany, Eastern Europe, India, the Middle East, Central & South America including Brazil, and Asia such as China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, etc. It is also known that even airline rights around the world have been sold.

 

In particular, major countries such as North America, Taiwan, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines are preparing for the release at the same time as Korea, raising high expectations of global moviegoers. For the global launching show, which took place on April 22 (Fri), major foreign media from North America, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore also attended the live broadcast.

 

K-Movie Entertainment, the overseas sales company of THE ROUNDUP said, The fact that THE ROUNDUP is the first Korean film Don Lee stars in since ETERNALS has attracted keen attention from overseas buyers since the beginning of sales. In particular, we were able to wrap up the pre-sale early due to high expectations for Actor Don Lee’s cheerful action and humor, who is returning as a ‘monster detective,’ the character that heralded the start of Don Lee’s action in full swing.” Following the explosive prequel, attention is focused on what kind of result THE ROUNDUP will show in overseas releases.
