For 3 days from October 6, the 2022 CINE KOREA EXPO, the Film and Video Industry Exhibition, will be held at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, Busan, for the first time in Korea. Under the theme, ‘Cine Technology Meets Cine Content,’ it will provide a venue for business networking for filmmakers in various fields, including advanced film equipment companies, technology experts, and producers so that the Korean film and content industry can become a global major.
In addition, Korean and foreign buyers are specially invited through the expo organizer’s own network and KOTRA to operate a 1:1 business matching program optimized with the companies participating in the expo. This is to actively support the participating companies to pioneer markets. “We hope this opportunity will boost the trading of the hardware sector, including advanced film technology know-how and equipment, to help the development of the Korean film industry,” the organizer explained.
Also, they’ll open various themed exhibition halls tailored to the non-face-to-face era after the COVID-19 pandemic, including an OTT service platform, a one-person personal broadcasting booth, a webtoon hall, and an online education hall, etc. In addition, fan sign events with famous movie stars and seminars inviting famous Korean and foreign speakers are scheduled for the visitors.
The exhibition will be co-hosted by K-Exhibitions Corp. and BUSAN FILM COMMISSION and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Busan City, KOTRA, KOFIC, Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), BEXCO, etc.
‘CINE KOREA EXPO’ will be held every year during the Busan International Film Festival, where more than 200,000 domestic and foreign film officials and audiences participate, to maximize synergy.
