Born in 1967, KIM Young-ho’s first claim to fame was as the main vocalist of a Cheongju-based underground rock band in the late 1980s. He moved to acting in 1994 through the productions of musicals <Guys and Dolls> and <The Last Empress>, and after a first television appearance in the series <Start> in 1997, he finally debuted in films playing a boxing trainer in <City of The Rising Sun> (1998). He then landed more important roles in <Phantom The Submarine> (1999) and <Club Butterfly> (2001), and he started to earn recognition with his turn as a ruffian-turned-politician in the historical drama series <Rustic Period> (2003). Following appearances in <Blue> (2003), <My Wife Is A Gangster 2> (2003) and <Spin Kick> (2004), he turned a new leaf in his career when he was cast by HONG Sang-soo to star in <Night And Day> (2008). He worked again with the famed author for <Hahaha> (2010), and he was later seen playing the male lead in <My Secret Partner> (2011). More recently, he won the Korean Fantastic Best Actor for <Dogs in the House> (2018).
