Gender : Male

Nationality : South Korea

Director SONG Hae-sung came into his own with his second feature, FAILAN (2001), a film about a hoodlum who finds purpose in life after discovering true love. It was the film that cemented SONG as a major force in Korean cinema, and won praise from audiences and critics alike for his sympathetic portrayal of the weakness and deep flaws lingering behind the façade of bravado of Korean men. His ambitious follow-up, RIKIDOZAN: A HERO EXTRAORDINARY (2004), was a biography of wrestler Rikidozan, who rose to stardom in Japan. The film was selected as the closing film of the 18th Tokyo International Film Festival in 2005. He also adapted author KONG Ji-young’s bestselling novel into MAUNDY THURSDAY (2006) and remade John Woo’s A BETTER TOMORROW in 2010 with Korean superstars such as SONG Seung-heon, KIM Gang-woo, JO Han-sun, and JOO Jin-mo. Having worked in diverse genres over the course of his career so far, he will no doubt bring out the best in BOOMERANG FAMILY’s ensemble cast.
