SHIM Hye-Jin debuted as a commercials model in 1986. She caught the public’s eyes with her beauty and tall frame. She was frequently cast as an urban career woman in movies and commercials. She has been a TV host many times. She has made about 30 films so far and at the same time she has won many prizes from famous film festivals and awards. She said, “If somebody asks me what do you do best or what is you specialty, I’m going to say them: nothing. But I can do anything that you can do, and at the same time I can make a greater effort than you.” SHIM stayed away from the screen for a few years following <Foxy Festival> in 2010. She returned with a pair of independent films in 2014, first the drama <Welcome>, which screened at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and later KU Hye-sun’s new family drama <Daughter>, which debuted at the Busan International Film Festival.
